A fun tradition in the Hawaiian culture, is to throw a big luau for their child’s first birthday. We do a lot of 1st birthday parties, as well as parties to celebrate many of life’s big events. Quincineras, Bar Mitzvahs, graduations, bridal showers, weddings, anniversaries, vow renewals, 30th, 50th, 75th, 90th birthdays, retirement parties, and even quite a few memorials. We tell our workers that they need to give great attention to detail, because many of these events are one of the most important events in a client’s life.

We worked with Patrice for over a year (!) to help her plan her company luau for 180 people at Toro Irrigation Company in Riverside. It included some great island props, pig ceremony and the show. Since they were on a tight schedule we organized the catering so that we fed all 180 people in about 20 mins. Even though their business presentations went over their time schedule, we were able to make up for it and accomplish their luau event on-time.

“This is our second time using Islanders Luau Entertainment & Catering. We loved them the first time and even though there are other companies out there, I can’t imagine using anyone else. From catering, to performances and even their amazing decorations, they do it all flawlessly. Maril and his group bring their heart and soul into every aspect. The food was excellent. My guests especially loved the chicken and salmon barbequed on site, and the pig ceremony was a huge hit. Each performance was great, but the fire dance at the end of the evening was exceptional and definitely “wowed” my guests. For many, it was their first taste of the islands and definitely left them wanting more. The Islanders not only bring the beauty and traditions of the islands, they also bring a true sense of “ohana” family, and make you feel like you are part of theirs. Not only did the Islanders decorate the gym at the high school, but they provided island villages where students could weave headbands out of fresh palm leaves and orchids, get temporary island tattoos, take Hawaiian hula dance lessons, and see a coconut opening demo complete with fresh coco rice. Maril dressed up some of the boys from the district and they carried in a whole roasted pig right before the luau began.
